Alexander Kaplan is a newly appointed A1 Managing Director
A1 is consolidating its team. Alexander Kaplan has joined this team and taken the office of the Managing Director.
“The role of Alexander Kaplan in building one of the leading international corporations operating in the sector — TNK-BP, is extremely important. I am sure that A1 will become stronger thanks to his experience in strategic development of companies,” says German Khan, Chairman of A1 Advisory Board.
The main objectives for Alexander Kaplan in A1 are the finding and development of new business streams within the framework of the main specialization of the company, which is the investments into special situations.
“Alexander Kaplan has the unique and successful experience in launching new projects in the Consortium structures. I am sure that his experience, knowledge, and expertise in oil and gas sector will be implemented in full in A1,” says Mikhail Khabarov, President of A1.
Since 2003, when TNK-BP was established, he has been holding different positions:
Fr om 2003 to 2009 — Vice-President for Marketing Operations; from March 2009 to the time when TNK-BP was sold to new owners, he held the office of the First Deputy Executive Vice-President for Processing and Sales.
From 1997 to 2003 — Senior Vice-President, Head of Marketing, Sales, and Processing Unit. Senior Vice-President for Processing and Sales in OJSC Tumenskaya Neftyanaya Kompaniya.
From 1994 to 1997 — Deputy Director of Raw Materials Department in Alfa-Eco, wh ere he was in charge of the petroleum products sales.
Mr. Kaplan graduated from Moscow State University of Service (Law discipline), and completed a number of courses in Thunderbird School of Global Management and Kellogg School of Management.
