Kronverk Cinema opens its first cinema in Ukraine
The Kronverk Cinema international network of cinemas officially opened the Kronverk Cinema Dafi multiplex in Kharkov.
“It is our 16th cinema and the first one in Ukraine. Kronverk Cinema is the first Russian network which came to the country. We expect success of our business here,” Roman Linin, General Director of Kronverk, said.
The Kronverk Cinema project is performed by the A1 company, a division of the largest Russian Alfa Group consortium. A1 merged Kronverk with АFМ, a leader of the Turkish market of film distribution and exhibition, into the Eurasia Cinemas international network (the АFМ controlling interest of Alfa Group was purchased one year ago). - the best world standards – large screens and a stadium sits system with the 100 percent screen vision, Dolby
Digital Surround EX sound, cinemachinery by the German Kinoton company with an electronic control system.

- We actively began the year 2009, just opened two cinemas in Novosibirsk and came to Kharkov now. In Ukraine we built our first cinema, following our strategy – to create only the best cinemas which are close to our audience both emotionally and territorially. Kronverk was the first one which organized a cinema network of the world level in St. Petersburg and maintains the highest standards at the cinemas of Moscow and other regions of Russia. Now we extend them to the Ukrainian project: Kronverk Cinema Dafi is the first widescreen cinema in 1,5 million Kharkov, and here also everything will only be according to the most perfect exhibition technologies and service.
It is in TOP 5 of the Russian cinema operators in relation to the quantity of screens and is in TOP 3 in relation to box-offices. The project objective of A1 in Kronverk is to transform the company into a national network. Kronverk is a leader of film exhibition in St. Petersburg, it opened cinemas in Moscow, Magnitogorsk, Murmansk and Novosibirsk. After putting the cinema into operation in Kharkov, Kronverk has 16 cinemas and 104 screens.
Cinema network No. 1 in Turkey. Established in 1981, operates 29 cinemas (182 screens) in 13 cities of Turkey. Has 20% of the market (box office). Has exclusive rights to use the IMAX technology in the country. Its shares are listed on the Istanbul Stock Exchange (IMKB). Since the beginning of 2008, 88% of АFМ shares are owned by Eurasia Cinemas Holding, which was organized for consolidation of A1 investments into the film sector and which is consolidating Kronverk Cinema and АFМ.
