Before joining А1 he held various management positions in a number of production and manufacturing enterprises. Between 2002 and 2004 he was vice-president and a member of the executive board at Gazprombank. Between 1997 and 2002 he worked at the international audit and consultancy firm, Arthur Andersen. Andrei is chairman of the Board of Directors at both UNITILE and DS Controls, and manages the Alfa Distressed Assets Fund.
He graduated in 1995 from the Moscow State Social University in finance and credit; in 1999 he completed the postgraduate course at the Institute of International Economical and Political Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences; in 2005 he graduated from the Finance Academy of the Russian Government, majoring in accounting and audit; and in 2010 gained an MBA from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business.
